Consistent Inconsistency

Remember this quote?:
"Yes I know I did not serve NS, I have a harder road ahead and this is how I want to serve Singapore....  Yes I did break a promise to my wife, but we have talked about it she is behind me 100%. My father has supported my decision, there is no betrayal."

"Father" (committee member Singapore Association of Trade Unions (SATU) and Barisan Sosialis; vice-president Singapore General Employees' Union) was one of the "Big Six" trade union leaders - including Lim Chin Siong, Fong Swee Suan, Sidney Woodhull, Jamit Singh and ST Bani - who risked life and and limb to call for a "genuinely full internal government". The foreign powers of the day that colonialised Singapore made full use of the Internal Security Council to squash their minority voices, the nefarious instrument which launched Operation Coldstore (sometimes spelled Operation Cold Store, Chinese: 冷藏行动) to lock away away at least 111 anti-government elements, including key members of an opposition political party.

The son is now dissing a political commentator for stating the obvious. Boasting that the mistrust involves only a minority, he lambasts her for being Chicken Little, the character in a moral folk tale that has passed into the English language as a common idiom indicating a hysterical or mistaken belief that disaster is imminent.

"It appears that Ms Lim cannot be trusted  to be consistent in her own statement," crowed Janil Puthucheary. So says the pot calling the kettle black. This newbie citizen (landed in 2001, picked up passport in 2008, sneaked into parliament in 2011) fails to appreciate the angst of the seniors who were once promised their life savings will be available at age 55. This is how Toh Chin Chye highlighted the inconsistency:
"If I were to put this sum of money in a commercial bank and, on the due date I go to the bank to withdraw the money, the manager says, "I am sorry, Mr Toh, you will have to come next year", there will be a run on the bank!"

  1. Somebody asked "do you want to pay more tax to fund a higher CPF interest?"
With voters like that, we are doomed.

    1. Think it the other way, more people are realising this is bullshit which is a good thing, WP has shown that opposition are able to run a town council, so the threat that opposition wards will turn into a slum never was realised

    2. I thought we already paid 20% tax, so what further tax do they need from us to fund higher interest?

    3. Something doesn't seem quite right. On one hand they seem so damn worried we have not enough for retirement so they came up with this Min Sum thing. But on the other hand they are so damn stingy by siphoning off a much bigger share of the returns from investing our CPF funds and instead gave a very much smaller share to CPF members who provided the seed money for their investments.

So isn't PAP rather inconsistent in their policy formulation regarding CPF funds and never took the necessary action to protect or enhance the interests of CPF members? So why is this idiot MP rather waste his time in taking Catherine to task instead of questioning PAP Ministers for their failure in their fiduciary duties to protect Singaporeans?

Is he not another one of those lap dog being hired to do the barking up the wrong tree?

  2. What do you expect from someone who is prepared to renounce his loyalty to Malaysia for the gravy train here despite the injustice done to his father?

    1. I wonder what Putu's wife and relatives think of him, choosing to serve those who fix his father. How to ever trust such a man ? Not even the PAP buggers who are using him. LOL

  4. Did our PAP leaders divert our rightful entitlements out of the higher returns received from investing our CPF funds and used them for other purposes to their benefit them in one way or another whether directly or indirectly?

If our PAP leaders still deny this is the case, then can they at the very least show us the proof? No use keep on talking & resorting to law suits, but refused to provide the facts. Then what sort of trust is there for us to believe them ?

    1. You are talking about a party that mooted the elected president as the 2nd key and when it doesn't work out is mooting to do away via a backbenchers Denise phua. The only effective way to make sure that PAP is blocked is for them to lose a third of parliament seat, so that backbenchers don't need to excuse themselves to go toilet.

  7. He is just wiping his master's ass, like he did when he "took umbrage" at Lawrence Lien's suggestion of a free education for all. Now he is taking pot shots at Catherine Lim. Know that these are people who are immeasurably more upstanding than him, than one who sneaked into Parliament by the backdoor.

I also take umbrage at scions of victims of PAP oppression who have jumped ship and joined the PAP gravy train. These are the very people who are least qualified to talk about trust, especially one who puts the onus of his betrayal of his father's legacy on his father and wife. Kudos to people like Kenneth Jeyaretnam who has remained faithful to his father's fight. What is it about this party that seems to attract and embrace traitors?

  9. Han Wudi castrated the greatest historian in Chinese history for daring to speak out for a general that the emperor had wrongly blamed for surrendering to the huns. History remembers Han Wudi as a tyrant. Ms Lim had just done the miw and elites a favour, hoping to wake them up. If you listen carefully to the miw's response (mostly they think its not worth their while to respond, no minister even bothered to comment), its like a tyrant tasking his eunuchs to chastised the loyal official for daring to speak up. The miw's problem is not the people, it's them and their fellow elites and senior civil servants' arrogance. The groupthink in them is telling them to congratulate themselves for doing a great job, they reassure each other that the bloggers are just envious and sour grapes they aren't able to get into the elite circle, they think all it takes is a combo of good PR spin (pioneer package, "subsidies" here and there) and a few lawsuits to fix the opposition. Avalanche usually strikes when the sun is out and the mountaineers feel the most complacent.

The PAPigs will have us believe the ship is not sinking.
That it's just a communication problem.
    You know;
    - the floods
    - the MRT train breakdowns
    - the CPF minimum sum
    - the misadventures in buying foreign bank shares
    - the $2,000 Brompton bikes
    - Mas Selamat terrorist escape
    - the overly expensive office chairs
    - and etc.

    It's all a communication problem.

  11. On Jan 2014, DPM Teo (the architect of the 6.9 million Population White Paper), said that the country “cannot rely on a linear increase in labour, land, or resources such as energy to grow our economy”.

On April 2014 the PM said: "Let’s put in the resources, let’s bring in the foreign workers we need, let’s grow, because tomorrow I don’t know whether the opportunity would be there."

Consistent inconsistency, U-turn, flip-flop, policy shift? Sirs, this is not a war game here. Shifting hundreds of thousands of people at your whims and fancies, for short term economic growth, has dire irreversible consequences, not least of which is the livelihood of everybody.

    1. I'm afraid they see our economic progress as a war and their initiatives as a series of battles. They are willing to accept casualties and collateral damage. I cannot say if they are right or wrong but Singaporeans handed their fate over to the ruling party and disregarded the dangers. Now what do they do ?
