Teaching Grandma To Suck Eggs

China minced no words when it issued a statement making clear that the South China Sea issue is not a problem between China and the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) and it opposes the attempts of "one or two countries" to use it to harm the overall friendship between China and the regional bloc. Maybe they weren't too excited about Lee Hsien Loong bringing up the recent incidents involving China, Vietnam and the Philippines, and which had nothing to do with Singapore's territorial limits. The language was mild compared to the direct message from Deng Xiao Ping when the old man harped one time too many on the China-Taiwan issue: "This is between family; you are not family".

Still, the television camera showed the words had effect, as Lee struggled to justify teaching others how to suck eggs. His curious explanation goes along the line that while ASEAN does not take a view of the merits of the individual countries' claims, it has an overall view on the disputes which  "which happening on our door step". Explain that to the many Little India bystanders who were deported before having a chance to state their individual perspectives.

Last weekend we had just pushed the shopping cart into the elevator when 10 PRC contract workers hopped in before the automatic doors closed. One of them beat us to the thought, saying to himself aloud in Chinese, "Whoa! There's more of us than them".

The thought of 10,000 flag waving Filipinos establishing their presence in a public concourse recently upset some people. Imagine larger numbers of PRC, or other foreign nationals, demanding to express their "overall views" on everything happening on our doorstep.

  1. That is the trouble with these flies - really annoying. Only the likes of China and India can put them in their place. Presuming to be their equals can be dangerous for us, especially when the powers that be believe their own propaganda that we "punch above our weight". No doubt the western powers, eager to contain China would encourage us to assist them and in the process massage our overblown ego.

    1. The PAP elites proclaiming to "punch above our weight" is laughable when they can't even contest one on one in the GE despite having all the advantages, and the majority of these wankers have to hide behind GRCs to enter parliament. The sight of our spf commander taking cover during the little India riot is another laughable instance of "punching above our weight " and I have no doubt in any military conflict our paper generals will be the worst.
Having said that, it should be noted the top spf and military commanders are appointed by the PAP elites and this entire bunch are bonded by group masturbation.

  2. Is the issue between PRC or India vs Singapore? Or between the self-serving FT policies of the PAP and civil masters? If there were 2m yanks or Anton Caseys, would Tattler write such a blog as today berating the yanks or frig eating assholes or middle-finger trotting brits? See the issue clearly, its not a people vs people issue, its not even solely a political issue, its an elitism issue. On this, I think the WP and SDP got it spot on, don't berate the foreign workers, berate the self-serving policies. Don't get drawn into the idea that we are xenophobic like what the MSM and PAP want the 60% to believe.

    1. Tattler did not berate any foreigner at all, he just highlight the issue of foreigners bringing their own home-grown culture into SinCity.

Apparently, PAP is convinced that local citizens post greater threat in kicking PAP out of election than the foreigner-born citizens, and therefore on full force to in giving foreigners citizenship to increase their vote support. Hence these traitorous PAP keep degrading the local citizens and giving them name.

  3. This pinky has a very big head. Who really listen to him?. Even 17 years old kids not happy with his leadership, write on high wall vulgarities at him and his party. Cannot even manage a tiny red dot, want to teach other countries what to do. Even Singaporeans don't listen to him anymore.

  4. That's why even the Indians see it right to tell the PM and president to stop home owners from discriminating against them when renting flats.

  6. It doesn't escape the Chinese top leadership that Singapore is acting as a US's proxy to try to contain its growing influence in the region. Is it any wonder Xi Jinping has not bothered to drop by Istana for a cup of tea yet despite Singapore mobilising national resources like MND and URA to help them build Tianjin Eco City whilst Singaporeans are facing acute housing shortage and inadequate infrastructure?

    1. You are right. China had seen through Singapore. We are playing dangerous double edge games. At the end when we have no more value, either US will abandon us or China will give us a punch.

    2. Me thinks Indonesia and Malaysia are also waiting to give us a punch for helping US to spy on their leaders and family members.

  7. Oh come on.
    China cannot be ignorant of
Lee Kuan Yew and Nathan worked for Japanese Imperial Army during WW2.

'Teaching grandma how to suck egg', they are punching above their weights teaching the local pioneer generation how to live. The Rulers are largely make-up of 4th Generations. Mostly young elites brought up by their earlier successful forebears.

    1. Perhaps Singaporeans can chip in to put out a front page advert on China -Japan's mainstream media that LeeKuanYew and Nathan should be hired as facilitator cum mediator for their ongoing animosity....afterall both men have seniority in age, past experience of being PM and president and of course relevant WW 2 service records to match.
Having said, a suitable alternative can be PM Lee since he has been mentored for 20 years by LKY himself.

  8. Saw this little poem somewhere in cyberspace:

Teach not thy parent's mother to extract,
The embryo juices of the bird by suction.
The good old lady can that feat enact,
Quite irrespective of your kind instruction.

  9. I think our PM needs a good blow job to help take his mind off state affairs that is none of his business.
    More blow jobs.
And fewer investments in foreign banks.

    1. Our PM is spoilt for choice with so many PAP stooges and quite possibly over indulgence is distracting him.
