Price Of A Patriot

If you require proof Khaw Boon Wan is no gentleman, read how he addressed Ms Sylvia Lim in his closing remarks of the MND Review "debate":
"This is self-righteous and - pardon me for saying so - arrogant. Many of us in this House have been serving Singapore for decades, long before she entered this House.  Please, don't behave as if you're the only patriot in this House."

It kind of sets you thinking. Firstly, the oldest man in the House already said Singapore is not yet a nation - patriots are normally associated with nationhood. Then there's this definition of a patriot as a person who loves, supports, and defends his or her country and its interests with devotion. But how can anyone honestly do that when our country has been raped beyond recognition by members in the House who have sold it out to foreign interests, and diluted the national core to a fraction of its original composition? Even the kids of the future generation are not spared the ravaging pillage and plunder of the rapacious horde.

It was only in April 2013 that we learnt there was once a dastardly system of awarding sites in Housing Board estates to private pre-school operators based solely on the highest bid. Everybody cheered the announced intention to halt this inflationary practice. And there was the welcomed news that families with a gross monthly household income not exceeding $2,000 could actually enjoy subsidised fees as low $10 a month.

Then every body's jaws dropped. A mother of two revealed that kindergarten and childcare fees at 22 PAP community Foundation (PCF) centres in Sembawang GRC have announced hikes of not 5, 10 or 15, but TWENTY percent from January 2014. And this is how Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth (also PCF Executive  Committee Chairman) Lawrence Wong justified it: "But the average fees will still be way below market and that's how we have maintained our fees." Leopards never change their spots.  Like the Khaw Boon Wan practice with public housing prices, rates can be de-linked and re-linked to private sector numbers at their political convenience.

Thomas Paine once wrote: "These are the times that try men's souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman." The patriots, who are still standing bravely in spite of all odds, deserve better.

    Dear Millionaire Khaw.
Please spare us your self righteous speeches and grandfather stories.
Please focus on the facts and merits of the case at hand.

    1. Totally agree with the above writer. Who is khaw to talk to Ms. Sylvia Lim in such a tone? Self-righteous? Please, take a good look at himself in the mirror and khaw can see the very definition of self-righteousness.

    2. "Please, don't behave as if you're the only patriot in this House."

this only applies to Sylvia Lim because there may be other opp parties member in the house, but does not applies to 77 traitors and master traitors of establishment. They can't even tell if they are traitor or patriot. Pathetic party !

    3. Would Khaw and his fellow party Ministers and MPs continue to serve another decade or so if their salaries and allowances were half or less?
Old man already said if we didn't pay them well(actually make it exorbitantly very well), he wouldn't get enough good men to serve.
And Wooden joined in to say if their new candidates weren't guaranteed a win (preferably in a GRC), they wouldn't contest.
Looks like the 2 seniors just honestly tell us what a bunch of PAP MPs we have in the House

    5. Khaw the ex Malaysian is in no position to talk about patriotism, the same goes for Puthucheary talking about NS for women.

I rather hear LKY and Nathan talk about patriotism, their experiences in working for the Japs during occupation of Singapore.

  4. to PAP Khaw,

the words you used in the past as well as now only reconfirmed your low standing. Please do not humiliate Ms Sylvia Lim. She is speaking for all awakened Singaporeans. So you better show some respect to our representative in the House. Don't try to draw attention away from the real issue. Singaporeans have been betrayed by PAP.

  5. By insulting Sylvia Lim, PAP is insulting the Singaporeans as none of pap mps dare to even touch on this Aimgate deeply, and pretend to "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" of their own party.

  6. I do hope for other patriot of PAP kind stand on their own 2 feet and not like a certain MP hiding in the toilet when casting their vote, but at least he has the guts to do that.

  7. Mr Khaw, you are really low class.

Pretending to be what he is not, his crass and uncouth responses reveal what is is really like - an arrogant bully who tries to silence his critic through personal attack because he has no substance.

  8. sore loser... that 's what Khaw is. When you know you are losing, you go on the defense and khaw people names. That is so childish...

  9. Khaw should stare into the mirror before scolding someone arrogant. Patriotism is not measured by how long you stay in parliament or hold govt post and not everyone in parliament is as patriotic as what Khaw would want you believe. Besides, Khaw is a Malaysian and what makes him think he can accuse another Singaporean who were borned and bred here and now speak up for Singaporeans she served?

  11. ah qua khaw,
there are many Singaporeans before you became Singaporean. They had made great sacrifices and helped to build what Singapore it is today. They are the true patriots of Singapore. As for all the white scumbags like you in the parliament are worst than shit. PUI . .PUI

  13. How, but how can the minister and MND review claim that Town Councils are not subject to civil service rules when they are, under the Town Council Act, deemed to be public servants? The Act states that:

    Town Councils Act 1988
    (No. 12 of 1988)
    Part VII MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS
    50. All members, officers and employees of a Town Council shall be deemed to be public servants for the purposes of the Penal Code (Cap. 224).

So 1) either not all public servants are subject to "civil service rules", in which case the minister should clearly specify where one can find this set of "civil service rules" and which groups of cicvil servants are exempted from it, OR

    2) the minster and his panel of reviewers including the Perm Sec of MND are correct and Dr Teo and his management team in the 13 town councils are indeed acting as agents of a political party in managing all town council affairs, including the management of the hundreds of millions of sinking funds. And since it was not acting as public servants but on behalf of the PAP, as a resident of one of the 13 GRCs, I insist that the PAP make good the money lost during all previous investments in minibonds.

    Waht do people think?

  14. If Khaw feels that tripping up the opponent who bettered his party in Aljunied with AIM's poison pill is patriotic, citizens whose welfare is disregarded will know what their patriotic duty is come 2016.

  15. On one hand he was trying to highlight WP also awarded their Town Council contracts to their closely affiliated companies. But on the other hand he also pointed out that MND took no issue with the AHTC deals.

So if the MND took not issue which means they are above board, then may I ask WHAT THE FUCK is this Minister trying to capitalise here ? If there is any alleged corruption, by all means report WP to ICA

Why highlight the shit and then say it's not smelly ? Is he sort of trying to warn & threaten WP ? That is, don't try to throw the shit at us .... We can use all means to find fault with you if we want to ?

By putting it this way, I can't help thinking how low can our PAP leaders stoop ?

  16. Khaw is singapore number one enemy right now. He has to be removed. People must learn to stop voting for a party that do not know how to do the right thing such as sacking a traitor Khaw.

  18. I am shocked at their attitude. It seems they can’t tell right from wrong and are arrogant and destructive in nature. They don’t really love Singapore and Singaporeans at all, they only love and admire themselves.Patriotism is love of country and its people and not love of PAP, WP or other opposition parties. I am afraid this bunch of PAP leaders would never ever mature into adults. Remember this episode in 2016 and teach them a lesson, or better still remove them all from power. Majulah Singapura.
