Safety First

It looks like it will be quite a while before we stop hearing stories about the dead guy.

Former top Australian golf professional Alan Murray was talking about the time on the course when he was swinging with the VVIP and wondering where his ubiquitous security attachment was. He hit a couple of wayward shots that drove him into the bushes and an epiphany:
"When  we started I was surprised that I could not see any of his security men following him. Only when I hit into the bushes and went to look for my ball that I discovered they were around, behind the trees."
Murray was bowled over, "That's efficiency. Now I know why Singapore is a safe and secure place."

Some will call it a waste of resources, policing an exclusive golf course where only those elites who can afford the exorbitant green fees are allowed to romp on the manicured grass. Instead of protecting the vulnerable like the 27-year-old woman researcher who was slashed while walking along a poorly lit and derelict path linking Biomedical Grove to Commonwealth Drive. The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*Star) belatedly issued a circular to its staff advising them not to use the shortcut leading from Biopolis to Commonwealth MRT Station. Contrary to what the tourist promotion board likes to crow about, not all Singapore streets are safe to walk alone. Swallow the official spiel at your own peril.

    What about PAP politicians?
Are all of them so good that we should vote for them on blind faith?

  2. This is a highly suspicious case.
It clearly reported hat she was not robbed.
So there must be a reason to slash her as a kind of warning or threat.
What kind sensitive project is she working on?
    What does she specialised in?
Why is this case even worth reporting?

  3. Nothing highly suspicious. I live there. Just one flasher there and bicycle thieves. The guy who slashed her was some sicko who took his chance to prey on a woman.

    1. So Freddy Krueger types who slash and flash are now regularly on the prowl in the streets of Singapore? And I thought we only had to worry about the Jason Tan types who like to cut off little boys' dicks.

  4. He mus have asked his scores of bodyguards to go n hide behind the bushes as he didn't want his foreign guests wondering why a deer most beloved leeder of a nation needed so many bodyguards.for.
Is the angmo golfer obtuse or being sarcastic when he said finding the deer leeder's bodyguards hiding shows SG efficient , safe n secure place.? Hello they only protect him n not us.
SG isnt safe anymore with the influx of foreigners of the unsavoury kind and serious police manpower shortage . It will get worse n not better.

    1. Yes, just like what are the Traffic Police now mainly deployed for? Escorts for our VIPs and some foreign dignitaries. Oh yes, for movements of heavy machineries. In short, for Heavy Weights.

  5. The old man is afraid of his own shadow. In case you don't know, Tattler, the place would have been "swept" before he tees off. Furthermore, no one would have been allowed to play either before or after a period of time until he goes off.
